Janay Growden Rose has been designing window displays for 12 years in
the Bay Area, and has been making clothes off and on for the last 14 years.
A FIDM alumni who's other creative babies include her band "Knees and Elbows".
The Window Lady's clothing is all 100% recycled and
inspired by androgony,
contradiction, flea market
finds, and decades past.
For The Window Lady recycling
is not a trend but a responsiblity as a designer
whether it's in a window display or a garment. this
inspiration to use recycled
materials (mainly old
ties) gives each item a original one of a kind
creative spell.
Janay sews all of her own garments in
a childs playhouse on top of her boat
named Muffy
Maru. You can find her hats, tie dresses, vests,
colonial inspired
pants, and accesories primarily at
Neda's Florals and Gifts on Haight Street in
San
Francisco where her clothing mixes with flowers.
Other stores that have had her designs, or will have
her designs include
Fabuloid, and Five and Diamond in
San Franciso.
